I see you
As I walked through a busy street in New York City, all of a sudden, I saw a homeless man holding up a cardboard sign: “I might as well be invisible”. I stopped in my tracks and told him: “I see you!” Since then, I dedicated a series of street portraits that ask the viewer to slow down and observe the suffering that may inadvertently remain unnoticed in our daily rush to get to our busy destinations. These paintings, made with a combination of brushes and sculpture tools, create a 3D visual effect and entice the viewer for a tactile experience. I believe that the artist should use their talent to call attention to where help is most needed. Together with the responsive viewers, we can make a real change.
